This brass pendant is my first attempt at setting a cabochon stone with prongs. It’s too difficult to do a bezel setting because the bezel cannot be cast thin enough to be pushed and I don’t have easy access to fire so that I can solder on a bezel. Not to mention — my soldering skills are still pretty minimal. 🙂 The prongs method came out okay. The stone is a garnet and it’s only 5mm in diameter. It was a bit difficult to push the prongs because of the tight location and a lack of tools, but I persevered. I might try this again with a silver pendant which might be easier since silver is a bit softer.
